Rooster is one of Dave Bailey’s many restaurants in St. Louis, and like all of his restaurants it is a unique and delightful addition to local cuisine.
Great flavors, locally sourced, and plenty of vegan or vegetarian options make for a wonderful place to have brunch for everyone. The main gist of the place are their sweet and savory crepes which come in a wide variety, all of which we have tried we loved.
They also have the usual breakfast fare, including a delightful slinger with andouille sausage and a wonderful gravy that is full of flavor but not too greasy.
For those who are into bloody mary’s, which Christine and I aren’t really fans of, there is a huge selection of variations to choose from, including ones with beef broth and clam juice.
- Pros: Locally sourced and featuring a wide variety of breakfast and lunch options that all have vegan and vegetarian variations.
- Cons: Little loud and crowded, like all of Dave Bailey’s places, but that is only because they are so popular.
- Charlie’ Favorites: Rooster Slinger, Caramelized Bananas Crepe, Smoked Sirloin Crepe #2
- Christine’s Favorites: Breakfast Potatoes, Marinated Spicy Chicken Crepe, Mimosa
